2012 Flux Garden Progress

After tilling on Saturday, we headed up to Elbow for some much needed R and R. When we came back it was like the little garden elves had visited! Wow! Thank you garden elves Jan and Trudi!

  1. Our apologies to everyone who wanted to be there for planting but the weather forecast made it somewhat urgent to get the garden in on Monday as it would have been another week or more if we had waited. We now need to see how things sprout in the next week to 10 days and then we will need to do some thinning ( we purposely seeded heavier than needed to compensate for the harder ground and we will need to thin some of the rows once things come up ) After that, there will be the constant need to weed and hoe between the rows to discourage weed growth and to allow for larger development of the veggies. As Jane mentioned in her note, some of the over-wintered onions may be ready to go sooner than later
