Charity doing Grace

Charity has great extension through her hips, knees and ankles. Notice the big pull (heave) as she prepares to get under the bar.

  1. I'm pretty happy with how I'm improving on my clean and jerk. Doing "Grace" this time around I felt stronger and more efficient in my movement. I even reduced my "Grace" time by 2.5 minutes bringing it down to 5 minutes.

I'm sure the time reduction came because I was more confident and I didn't move away from the bar as much when it was on the ground. Walking away from the bar to rest was a habit I was really trying to break. And I did. (I remembered this b/c of the reminder I wrote to myself in my book. Taking my cue from Joan, I'm becoming more and more detailed in my note taking - a good habit.)

Next time I'll up the weight to the required 95lbs and aim for the same time.
